Hollywood Church of Religious Science

My first exposure to Religious Science/Science of Mind came in 1991 when I walked into the Hollywood Church of Religious Science, not knowing what to expect.  Having been brought up in the First Baptist Church of Paris, Missouri and then converting to Catholicism in my 20s, I was enthralled with Dr. Bitzer's Sunday presentation.  He was saying everything that I had come to believe with all my heart but no minister/priest/pastor had ever spoken these words before to me.  And this was exactly the way it felt ... like Dr. Bitzer was talking to me personally.  Sometime during his 20-minute lecture, I knew I had found the "Truth that could set me free."  And I never looked back to religion again!
- Reverend Dr. Henry Lee Bates

"Decisions give Life meaning.  Your growth is the result of your conscious decisions.  They represent how you are directing your creativeness.  Adjusting yourself to situations over which you have no control does not bring spiritual growth.  Such experience would develop tolerance, patience, and forbearance; but it merely accepts the status quo and disallows your opportunity for conscious choice."
Dr. Robert H. Bitzer, Collected Essays
